Paris Olympics: Michael Phelps in crowd cheering on Team USA, Simone Biles at Team Gymnastics final

Simone Biles not only has her husband, Chicago Bears defensive back Jonathan Owens, in attendance for Tuesday’s Team Gymnastics final at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, but a fellow GOAT is there supporting her and the team as well.
Michael Phelps, the most decorated Olympian of all-time with 28 medals to his name, was spotted in the stands cheering Biles on. Phelps was all smiles after Biles’ first rotation, in which she scored a 14.900 on the vault.
Like Phelps, Biles is certainly on the shortlist of the greatest Olympians of all-time. Biles entered the 2024 Summer Games as a seven-time medal winner, four of which are gold.
Team USA, Simone Biles seeking redemption in Team Gymnastics final
Team USA captured silver in the Team Gymnastics final last Olympics in Tokyo, an event Biles did not participate in. Biles pulled out of most of her events due to a bout with the twisties, a phenomenon where gymnasts lose their sense of place in the air.
Biles is back this year, and Team USA entered Tuesday’s event as a heavy favorite. Joining Biles on the floor for Team USA are Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey and Sunisa Lee.

“All of us, like not a single one of us, had the whole experience that we wanted. There’s something that each of us wanted to be better at, so the four us kind of sticking together and really wanting to make this team was really special,” Carey said earlier this month. “We’ve all worked so hard to come back from that, and so now, we’re just ready to get that redemption.”
Team USA is competing against seven other countries: Italy, China, Brazil, Japan, Canada, Great Britain and Romania.
“We can kind of lean on each other,” Biles said. “That’s what girls’ girls do. That’s what we’re going to do. We’re just going to go out there and make it happen.”
