What a race! Parker Kligerman gets the job done in his substitute start. He wins at Daytona in place of Connor Zilisch. The two drivers switched places at the first caution. Kligerman got the job done in NASCAR overtime in the Xfinity Series.

Parker Kligerman has now technically won two races at Daytona this season. No matter what happens in post-race tech, neither win will be official for Kligerman in the end.

Connor Zilisch keeps his top-five streak alive, picks up a heap of points, and adds another win to his total this season. He didn’t even have to finish the race. What a night for this 88 team and Kligerman.

Parker Kligerman only led 12 laps. But it was clear that once he was comfortable, he was going to have a chance in the 88 car. JR Motorsports has great equipment. The driver still has to get the job done, though.

Almost immediately after making the swap with Zilisch, Kligerman was running laps up front. He has only raced a few times this season in the Truck Series.

This is the second time that another driver has filled in for Zilisch and the second time that driver has won. This win will go in the record books for Zilisch, though. Since he started the race, he gets the points and the credit for the win. However, he won’t get the playoff points from the win.

Parker Kligerman wins, Justin Allgaier takes points lead

This race was fairly typical for the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Daytona. We had late cautions. There were incidents throughout, really. A healthy number of cautions and a great story as far as the winner goes. Parker Kligerman got to live the dream tonight.

Looking at the regular season championship race – things are getting very interesting. Connor Zilisch had a seven-point lead going into the race. Justin Allgaier is now ahead by three points despite Kligerman’s win. Races at Portland and Gateway will help determine which among them will be the champion.

The 88 team has now won eight times. Seven of those wins will be attributed to Zilisch. Six of those wins were won by Zilisch himself, crossing the finish line. It has been quite the run for the 19-year-old rookie.

With two races before the playoffs, don’t sleep on Sam Mayer, either. He is only 26 points out, and if anything strange happens with the 88 and 7 over these next two races, it could be the 41 who finds himself the regular season champ.
