Patrick Mahomes caught on hot mic trying to trick Raiders defense on 4th down: 'This f***ing never f***ing works'

Patrick Mahomes left some fans rewinding their televisions when he was caught on a hot mic against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. With the Chiefs at fourth-and-1, Mahomes attempted a hard count to draw the Raiders offside.
When the Raiders didn’t budge, Mahomes let several expletives fly. Normally, a team would call a timeout after the failed hard count attempt. However, Mahomes’ frustration ended up being a ruse.
Instead, the two-time NFL MVP hurried back under center, snapped the ball and quickly handed it off for a first down. Check out the wild play below.
Although the Chiefs are only 3-3 thus far this season, Mahomes has had a strong start to the 2025-26 campaign. He entered the game on Sunday with 1,514 passing yards for 11 touchdowns, compared to just two interceptions.
Mahomes has also already tallied 222 yards and four scores in the ground game this season. Evidently, the three-time Super Bowl champion is only picking up steam.
On the Chiefs’ first offensive possession against the Raiders, Mahomes only needed nine plays to lead his team 92 yards down the field and into the end zone. Even in his ninth season in the league, Mahomes hasn’t lost an ounce of his passion for the game.

Of course, that fiery nature is what’s made Mahomes one of the most successful quarterbacks in the modern era. During an appearance on The Joel Klatt Show earlier this year, Tom Brady said Mahomes is the quarterback most similar to him that’s currently playing.
“From afar, I can only tell so much because if I was in there every day, I could see their habits. It’s always that line about who wants to win versus who’s willing to do whatever it takes to win,” Brady said. “Everyone wants to win, but what are the habits and the daily habits and the actionable things you need to do every day to put your team in a position to win.
“Patrick Mahomes, to me, is the one that does that the most often because who he is — I mean, obviously his physical talent, how he understands what he needs to do offensively, and he brings a consistent winning attitude to work every single day. In the biggest moments you can depend on him the most.”
Mahomes will need to at least double his Super Bowl wins in the back half of his career and win another MVP award to rival Brady’s legacy. Nonetheless, Mahomes is certainly in the conversation when discussing the greatest QBs of all time.
