Patrick Peterson shouts out Steelers fans after SNF win, explains why he signed with Pittsburgh

Patrick Peterson is just three games into his tenure with Pittsburgh, but he might already be a fan favorite. Not only does he bring great on-field performance to the franchise, he gave a major shoutout to Steelers fans attending the Sunday Night Football game in Las Vegas.
The Steelers earned a 23-18 victory over the Raiders on Sunday night, improving to 2-1 on the season. Peterson finished the contest with five tackles and an interception in the contest.
After the game, Peterson joined the Sunday Night Football crew to talk about the game. He gave a major shoutout to the contingency of Pittsburgh fans who made their way to Allegiant Stadium.
“There’s nothing like this Steelers Nation, baby!” Peterson said. “They show up wherever we play.”
Peterson was then asked what prompted him to sign with the Steelers in the offseason. His response will be received well in the city.
“This,” he said, pointing to the fans. “Historic franchise. Always have great defensive players. Mike Tomlin. I mean, I would not rather be anywhere else. This is where I wanted to be, just because of the fans. They travel well. And just how well the defense plays year in, year out. I had to be part of this.”
There was immediate excitement about Peterson joining the secondary in the offseason. The eight-time NFL Pro Bowl selection brought a load of experience and talent to join an already-stout defense.
Through three games, Peterson has been credited with nine tackles, including six solo stops. He’s also responsible for four passes defended and an interception.

The Steelers will attempt to make it three-straight wins, playing the Houston Texans on Sunday.
Steelers endure travel troubles in return from Vegas
The Steelers didn’t exactly have the most enjoyable trip back to Pittsburgh. Yes, the team did celebrate a 23-18 victory over the Raiders to improve to 2-1, but an oil pressure failure in an engine on the team plane forced an emergency landing.
Schefter provided some details on the situation.
“After their team plane was unexpectedly diverted to Kansas City early this morning, the Steelers remain on the same plane that left Las Vegas at roughly 11:30 pm PDT last night, waiting for another plane to get them back to Pittsburgh,” Schefter shared. “Steelers were supposed to have landed in Pittsburgh about 5:30 am; their new arrival time remains uncertain. Soon enough they’ll be back on another plane; they play at Houston on Sunday.”
That’s not exactly a fun situation for anyone involved. Fortunately, though, the plane landed safely in Kansas City and nobody was hurt.
Pittsburgh will be on the road again in Week 4, traveling to Houston. Houston picked up its first win of 2023, defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars 37-17.
