Penn State at Ohio State odds: Opening point spread revealed, How to Watch

On Saturday, No. 1 Ohio State will host Penn State. While the Big Ten showdown won’t be nearly as pivotal as fans would’ve assumed before the season, both teams will be hungry for a win.
The Buckeyes boast a 25-14 all-time record against the Nittany Lions. In fact, Ohio State has won its last eight meetings against Penn State. Most recently, the Buckeyes defeated PSU 20-13 last season.
Evidently, oddsmakers don’t expect Penn State to break its losing streak this year. According to BetMGM, Ohio State is a 20.5-point favorite against the Nittany Lions. The over/under for the game is set at 44.5 points.
How to watch Penn State at Ohio State
Time: Saturday, Nov. 1 | Noon ET
Channel: FOX
Location: Ohio Stadium (Columbus, Ohio)
Ohio State isn’t the No. 1 team in the country by accident. The Buckeyes are 7-0 this season, largely due to their standout defense. Ohio State is only allowing 5.9 points per game, the least in the country. For reference, the next best team is giving up 9.4 points per contest.
Of course, OSU’s defense isn’t its only strength. The Buckeyes have arguably the best player in the country on offense in wide receiver Jeremiah Smith. The sophomore standout has hauled in seven touchdowns this season and is averaging 86.0 receiving yards per game.
When Smith isn’t carving up opposing defenses, Carnell Tate is. The star WR has 587 receiving yards and six scores this season. Penn State will be hard-pressed to slow down the Buckeyes’ pass game.
However, Penn State’s defense is far from its most pressing issue. The team’s offense has been lackluster this season and continued to underwhelm in their most recent outing, a 25-24 loss to Iowa.

In the defeat, Penn State only amassed 266 total yards offense. It was the Nittany Lions’ first game without QB Drew Allar, who suffered a season-ending injury. Ethan Grunkemeyer completed just 15-of-his-28 pass attempts for 93 yards and threw two interceptions.
He’ll look to take a step forward in the Week 10 showdown. Ohio State and Penn State will clash at noon ET on Saturday. The game will air live on FOX.
