Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi accomplished one of his biggest and best deeds this week by handing over the deed to a new house to his mom and dad.

“To the man and woman, that gave me and my sister the world; and asked for nothing in return,” Ogunjobi posted on Instagram. “Here’s a token of my appreciation! You two are more than deserving! Love you with everything I got. Congratulations, this is for you!”

The Pittsburgh Steelers account shared photos of the celebration, including Ogunjobi cracking a bottle of champagne in front of the spacious home. The home came complete with a big red bow on the front door.

Ogunjobi came up through Jamestown, North Carolina and played at Charlotte before going in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. The Browns selected him with the first pick of the third round.

He played four seasons with the Browns before spending one year in Cincinnati with the Bengals. He initially signed a one-year deal with the Steelers for $8 million but they re-upped on him in a major way this offseason.

Ogunjobi signed for three more years that will keep him in Pittsburgh through 2025. He’ll get nearly $30 million, with $21.75 paid out in the first two years.

With his now vast sums of money, Ogunjobi purchased the house for his family in Greensboro, North Carolina.

The Steelers’ defensive tackle has 23 career sacks with 40 tackles for loss over six seasons. In 2022, he posted 48 tackles, 1.5 sacks and eight tackles for loss while the Steelers went 9-8.

Steelers sign linebacker Marcus Golden

In other offseason news, Pittsburgh agreed to a deal for outside linebacker Markus Golden this week.

The 32-year-old Golden has spent most of his career with the Arizona Cardinals. His first stint with the team was from 2015-2018 before returning the past two seasons. He played in 2019 and 2020 with the New York Giants.

Last season, Golden played in 17 games for the Cardinals, starting 14 of them. He finished the season with 48 tackles but just 2.5 sacks. The previous season, Golden had made 48 tackles but had finished with 11.5 sacks.

He has finished with double-digit sacks three times in his career. His best single-season sack total was 12.5 during his second year in the league.

Golden was drafted in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Cardinals out of Missouri.
