Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Seattle Seahawks: Inactives set for Week 2

The NFL season has turned the page to Week 2. Already, narratives are starting to form, and certainly, the Pittsburgh Steelers are among the teams hoping to continue to ride their momentum from Week 1. They’ll be doing that against the Seattle Seahawks, who are trying to bounce back from an opening loss in their own right.
Going into the game, Seattle was expecting to be thin in the secondary against Pittsburgh. In the week leading up to the game, Pro Bowl cornerback Devon Witherspoon was listed as doubtful due to a knee injury. Then, rookie safety Nick Emmanwori was reported as out with his high ankle sprain, while safety Julian Love has been dealing with a groin issue. That comes as the Seahawks are ready to take on quarterback Aaron Rodgers and former Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf.
There are going to be plenty of eyes on the Seahawks and Steelers game this Sunday. Ahead of that game, here’s a list of players who have been named inactive for both teams.
CB: Joey Porter Jr.
S: DeShon Elliott
G: Max Scharping
G: Andrus Peat
DE: Esezi Otomewo
DT: Derrick Harmon
Seahawks:
S: Nick Emmanwori
QB: Jalen Milroe
CB: Devon Witherspoon
LB: Jared Ivey
LB: Connor O’Toole
T/G: Mason Richman
TE: Nick Kallerup
Those injury issues in the Seattle secondary are already starting to add up. That could end up being a concern for the Seahawks both against the Steelers and moving forward this season. Of course, that’s not the only position where the Seahawks are banged up.

On the plus side, there are some players coming back too. Outside linebacker Uchenna Nwosu is notably going to be making his debut for Seattle. That comes after he recovered from knee surgery.
Earlier in the Week, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin indicated that Pittsburgh would be thin on defense as well. In particular, safety DeShon Elliott, corner Joey Porter Jr., and defensive lineman Derrick Harmon have all been ruled out. In Porter’s case, it’s a hamstring issue that he suffered against the Jets in Week 1.
In response, the Steelers recently signed safety Jabril Peppers. The hope is he can hit the ground running after his time with the New England Patriots came to a bit of a surprising end. A veteran in the NFL, he’s new to Pittsburgh but should be well equipped to fill in for the time being.
The Steelers are set to host the Seahawks at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. EST. There, the two are expected to play one of the best games of the week.
