Heading into a Week 18 matchup on the road against the Baltimore Ravens, there was something other than a playoff spot at stake for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was potentially playing in his final regular season, with retirement rumors swirling over the final weeks of the regular season.

If a playoff appearance does not come to fruition for Pittsburgh, they were able to send their legendary quarterback off in a clutch fashion. Chris Boswell was able to nail the game-winning field goal, giving the Steelers a 16-13 win.

Roethlisberger ended the day going 30 of 44, throwing for 244 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. He was able to drive Pittsburgh down the field in the fourth quarter to tie the game and during overtime to set up the winning field goal attempt.

Pittsburgh ends the regular season with a 9-7-1 record and good enough for second place in the AFC North. The win made their playoff odds skyrocket. All that can keep the Steelers out is a tie between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday Night Football.

On the other hand, Baltimore’s season ends in disappointment. After getting out to an 8-3 start and having the No. 1 seed in the AFC, the Ravens lost six consecutive games. A majority were without starting quarterback Lamar Jackson, seeing the offense struggle on a weekly basis.

Pittsburgh Steelers LB ties NFL single seaosn sack record

In the first quarter against the Baltimore Ravens, T.J. Watt thought he tied Michael Strahan’s longstanding NFL sack record. On the Ravens opening drive, Watt took down Baltimore quarterback Tyler Huntley — a play where Huntley fumbled, and Watt celebrated.

However, the celebration was cut short by a controversial scoring decision. The scorekeeper at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore determined Huntley was a runner, and Watt was given no credit for a sack on the play. The Steelers star was still one sack behind Strahan.

Now, Watt is leaving no doubts. With less than two minutes remaining in the first half, the former Wisconsin star took down Huntley with emphasis. Officially, the Steelers star has tied Strahan’s record of 22.5 sacks in a season.
