Cleveland Browns running back Quinshon Judkins has been released from custody after posting a $2,500 bail, per CBS News’ Hunter Geisel. Judkins was arrested on Saturday and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery, according to a statement released by Fort Lauderdale Police.

“On July 12th, at approximately 9 a.m., Fort Lauderdale Police Officers responded to the 1500 block of West Cypress Creek Road in reference to a delayed battery,” the Fort Lauderdale Police Department Media Relations statement read, per Oyefusi. “Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the victim.

“During their preliminary investigation it was determined a battery had occurred. The officers made contact with the suspect and placed him into custody. He was transported to Broward County Main Jail. The suspect has been identified as Quinshon Judkins, DOB 10/29/2003 and has been charged with Misdemeanor Battery (Domestic) FSS 784.03-1a1.”

The Browns said that they are aware of Judkins’ arrest and “gathering more information” about the incident in a preliminary statement to CBS News Miami. Judkins has reportedly been ordered not to be in contact with the victim and have no access to a firearm.

Judkins was still in Broward County Jail late Saturday night and was scheduled to appear before a judge on Sunday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The Cleveland Browns selected Judkins with the No. 36 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Last offseason, Judkins transferred to Ohio State, where he helped the Buckeyes win their first national title since 2014. Judkins had a standout campaign, tallying 1,060 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns on 194 total carries.

Despite Judkins’ success at Ohio State, he began his career at Ole Miss. He broke onto the scene as a true freshman during the 2022 season with 1,567 yards and 16 touchdowns on 247 rushing attempts.

Judkins had a phenomenal sophomore season with the Rebels as well, eclipsing the 1,000-yard rushing mark again. He was a First-Team All-SEC selection in both of his seasons with Ole Miss. He was also the 2022 SEC Freshman of the Year.

However, as is the case with most second-round selections, Judkins has yet to sign his deal. Only two of the 30 early Day 2 selections have come to an agreement with their respective team.

It won’t be long before the Browns’ training camp begins, with their first day scheduled for July 25. Preseason games will begin shortly after, starting on Aug. 8. Finally, the Browns will kick off their regular season on Sept. 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
