Raiders rookie Ashton Jeanty welcomed to the NFL with punishing hit, sent to medical tent

Every NFL player will tell you they have a ‘Welcome to the NFL’ moment. Las Vegas running back Ashton Jeanty may have just had his, colliding with Tatum Bethune of the San Francisco 49ers. Jeanty was on the end of a punishing hit and was shaken up afterward.
He eventually came off the field and made his way into the medical tent. Luckily, everything appears to be okay, as Jeanty eventually got back into the game.
“#Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty in the medical tent,” Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network said via X. “Took a shot that last drive and was shaking his arm as he came off the field… Jeanty back in and running defenders over. Definitely OK.”
Not too long after, Jeanty showed everyone he was okay by getting into the end zone. It’s his first score of the preseason, unofficially opening an account many people expect to be open for a long, long time. At least, the folks in Las Vegas do.
On a second and goal from the two-yard line, Jeanty was able to cross the goal line. Some hearts may have stopped seeing the ball fall on the ground but thankfully, the touchdown was already called.

The Raiders do not want Jeanty to get hurt at any point of the season. But the preseason would be less than ideal as he faces an important rookie season. Jeanty appears to be a huge part of what Las Vegas plans to do on the offensive end. After all, they spent valuable draft capital in order to acquire him
More scenarios like the touchdowns are welcomed. Absorbing a lot of hard contact will be part of the job and hopefully, he can bounce right back.
More on Ashton Jeanty heading into rookie season
Jeanty brought a ton of hype heading into the NFL Draft after a great season at Boise State. A lot of people would argue he should have won the Heisman Trophy. Instead, a second-place finish was the result but teams were still wanting to draft the star running back.
Nobody has better odds to win Offensive Rookie of the Year than Jeanty. Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward is right behind him after being the No. 1 overall pick. However, the path for Jeanty appears to be as clear as anyone. A ton of success is likely on the way for the first-year player.
