Ravens suspending former Steelers WR Diontae Johnson for conduct detrimental to team

The Baltimore Ravens (8-5) have suspended receiver Diontae Johnson one game without pay for conduct detrimental to the team, per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
Johnson will miss the Week 15 game against the New York Giants (2-10) as the Ravens are on bye this week. In a press release, executive vice president and general manager Eric DeCosta said the decision to suspend Johnson stems from him refusing to enter this past Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles (10-2).
Johnson, 28, did not play a single snap in the 24-19 defeat despite being active and fellow wideout Rashod Bateman going down with a knee injury during the third quarter. Head coach John Harbaugh said there were “some moving parts” when asked Monday about Johnson’s status with the team.
“There’s some moving parts there that we’re going to have to figure out and explore, and see where we’re at,” Harbaugh said. “I know that’s not the answer you want, but that’s the best I can do in fairness to everybody right now.”

Asked a follow-up about whether Johnson would remain on the roster moving forward, Harbaugh declined to elaborate any further from his first statement.

“Like I said, we’ll just work it out, see where we’re at over the next few days this week,” Harbaugh said.
Johnson was Baltimore’s splash acquisition at the trade deadline, coming over from the Carolina Panthers (3-9) along with a 2025 sixth-round pick in exchange for a 2025 fifth-rounder. At the time of the trade, Johnson led Carolina with 30 receptions for 357 yards and three touchdowns in seven games.
Johnson, however, has been a non-factor since coming to Baltimore. He played 30% the offensive snaps in his team debut in Week 9 against the Denver Broncos (8-5) but hasn’t featured on more than 18% of the snaps since then. Johnson has just one catch for six yards in four games with the Ravens.
