Report: Cowboys plan to honor Marshawn Kneeland revealed

The Cowboys plan to honor Marshawn Kneeland by wearing special helmet decals a t-shirts for the next couple of games, according to Dallas team officials, via Calvin Watkins on X. Kneeland died last week at the age of 24.
In addition to that, there will be a video tribute and moment silence for Kneeland during the Cowboys’ next home game, which will be on Nov. 23 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Per Watkins’ report, Kneeland’s family and girlfriend are expected to attend.
The entire NFL honored Kneeland during Week 10 on Thursday and Sunday, holding a league-wide moment of silence if honor of the Cowboys defender. That is expected to continue for Monday Night Football between the Eagles and Packers.
Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones spoke on the “heartbreaking” loss of Kneeland on Monday to local station 105.3 The Fan. He called it a very difficult situation for everyone involved.
“I can’t imagine for his family,” Jones said. “And then of course, you talk about his extended family, which is his teammates and the Cowboys organization and everybody who cared and loved Marshawn so much. … Any time you get news like that, your heart just, obviously it’s like a hole going through it. You’re just heartbroken. Certainly hoping that that wasn’t the case. (I) woke up and was hoping it was a dream, but unfortunately it wasn’t.”

In the wake of Kneeland’s death, additional mental health services have been made available for Cowboys players and staff. Many, like Jones, have released statements on his passing. Kneeland is sure to be remembered by all those who knew him and the Cowboys organization.
During his NFL career, Kneeland totaled 26 career tackles, five tackles for a loss, and 1.0 sacks across 18 career games, which included four starts. for Dallas. Before being selected in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Cowboys, he starred as a defender for the Western Michigan Broncos.
The Cowboys will begin honoring Kneeland with the helmet decals beginning next Monday during their road game against the Las Vegas Raiders. It remains to be seen if the Raiders plan to honor Kneeland in any way before or during this contest. Kickoff is slated for 8:15 p.m. ET live on ABC and ESPN.
