Report: Former NFL star Adam 'Pacman' Jones arrested for assaulting police

Former NFL cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones was arrested on multiple charges early Saturday morning, according to a report from WKRC in Cincinnati. Jones was charged with public intoxication, second degree disorderly conduct and third degree assault on a police or probation officer.
Jones was booked into Kenton County jail in Kentucky at around 2 a.m. Saturday morning. He posted a $10,000 bond and was released a little more than nine hours later at 11:30 a.m.
According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, officers were called to the Second Story Bar in Covington, Kentucky, just before 1 a.m due to “a disturbance involving a customer and an employee.” Police were alerted to a car that was trying to leave the bar and arrived to stop the vehicle and find Jones inside.
Jones was arrested on “charges related to his level of intoxication and his behavior,” according to police. It’s unclear what happened after that to add assault to the list of charges.
“The Covington Police Department takes incidents of this nature very seriously. We are committed to maintaining peace and ensuring the safety of all who live in or visit Covington,” the department’s release read. “Adam Jones is being held to the same standard of conduct as any other individual in our community.”
Saturday’s arrest is the fourth time since 2021 that Jones has been taken to jail. Additionally, he has been booked on a public intoxication charge for three straight years now.
Jones was also arrested in 2023 after he was removed from a flight at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. He was charged with alcohol intoxication, disorderly conduct and terroristic threatening. He was also arrested in 2024 for assaulting an officer while attending the Jake Paul–Mike Tyson boxing match in Arlington.

The most serious arrest occurred in 2021 as pleaded no contest to two counts of misdemeanor assault after an altercation at a Cincinnati bar. He would end up spending 18 days in jail for the incident.
Pacman Jones spent 12 seasons in the NFL after being selected with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft. He spent the majority of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals (2010-17) and was named a Pro Bowler following the 2014 season.
Unfortunately, off-field issues were a common theme for Jones throughout his NFL career. He was suspended ahead of the 2007 season as a result before returning in 2008 to play one year for the Dallas Cowboys. He received another suspension in October of 2008 for an altercation at a Dallas area hotel.
Whatever has been troubling Jones, it doesn’t appear that he has been able to get a handle on it even after his retirement from the game in 2018. This recent arrest is evidence of that and hopefully he can get the help he needs to turn things around in his life.
