The Jacksonville Jaguars have traded running back Tank Bigsby to the Philadelphia Eagles, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Jacksonville will reportedly receive a fifth and a sixth round pick for the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft in exchange for Bigsby.

Bigsby is entering his third NFL season after being taken in the third round out of Auburn in the 2023 NFL Draft. He is coming off of the best season of his pro career, rushing for 766 yards and seven touchdowns in 2024.

However, Bigsby took a backseat to Trevor Etienne in the Jaguars’ season opener on Sunday. Bigsby had only four carries compared to 16 for Etienne as it was clear who the team viewed as their No. 1 back.

Now he’ll look to find his spot on an Eagles team that also already has a clear No. 1 running back in Saquon Barkley. Tank Bigsby could be in line to take over the backup position right away after Will Shipley suffered a rib injury in the Eagles’ season opener against the Dallas Cowboys.

Regardless, it will be interesting to see how Bigsby can contribute to the Eagles roster after his breakout season a year ago. Philadelphia won the Super Bowl last season and is on a quest to repeat, getting off to a 1-0 start to this season. Their next game comes Sunday in a Super Bowl rematch against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Report: Jacksonville Jaguars trading OL Fred Johnson to Philadelphia Eagles

Bigsby wasn’t the only Jaguars player to be traded to the Eagles this season. The team also traded offensive tackle Fred Johnson to the Eagles last month, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

In March, Fred Johnson signed a one-year contract with the Jaguars after spending nearly three seasons with the Eagles. During the 2024 season, Johnson played in all 17 regular season games and all four playoff games, which ended with a Super Bowl title. He was part of an offensive line that helped the Eagles rush for 3,048 yards, which set a single-season franchise record and ranked sixth in NFL history.

After spending four years with the Florida Gators, Johnson entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2019. He joined the Pittsburgh Steelers in May of that year but was waived by the team on Oct. 11. Johnson was claimed off waivers by the Cincinnati Bengals and played in six games with one start that season.
