Report: Jadeveon Clowney contract details with Cowboys revealed

The contract details for Jadeveon Clowney‘s signing with the Dallas Cowboys have been revealed. According to NFL insider Josina Anderson, Clowney is receiving a one-year contract worth as much as $6 million.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told reporters on Sunday that the team has signed Clowney. “He’s been an outstanding player, he’ll add some real depth,” Jones said of Clowney after the Cowboys defeated the Giants in overtime, per the Cowboys’ official website. “He’s very credible. He’ll help us.”
Jadeveon Clowney will be reunited with Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer. The two were together in 2019 when Clowney was with the Seattle Seahawks and Schottenheimer was the team’s offensive coordinator.
“Guy’s a really good football player. He’s missed playing the game a little bit, and the film obviously looks good. We’re always in the business of seeing what’s out there and keeping an eye on all good football players.” Schottenheimer said. “I would say the personal relationship I have with him, the problems I know he can create both in the run and the pass is the main reason he’s here.”

Cowboys want Jadeveon Clowney to be ‘disruptive’
The Cowboys are looking for more depth at the edge rusher position after trading Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. Clowney, who has been in the NFL since 2014, was with the Carolina Panthers in 2024 and registered 5.5 sacks in 14 starts. He was with the Baltimore Ravens in 2023 and recorded a career-high 9.5 sacks in 17 games.
“After losing Micah [Parsons] on the edge and certainly getting a great piece in Kenny Clark in the middle, we did want to try and shore up the outside again,” Cowboys COO/co-owner Stephen Jones said of Clowney. “We’re looking at Jadeveon as somebody who could do that. He’s disruptive, he does have production getting the passer, and think he’s a guy who can come in here and do some good for us.”
In his career, Clowney has been named to the Pro Bowl three times (2016-2018) and was selected to the All-Pro Second Team in 2016. Clowney played college football at South Carolina, where he was named SEC Defensive Player of the Year in 2012.
