Report: Mason Plumlee agrees to one-year, $5 million deal to return to Los Angeles Clippers

Mason Plumlee had his heart set on returning to the Clippers, and he’ll be back in Los Angeles for the 2023-24 season.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Plumlee has agreed on a one-year, $5 million deal to return to the Clippers next season, choosing the franchise over greater offers elsewhere in the NBA.
“Free agent C Mason Plumlee has agreed on a one-year, $5 million deal to return to the LA Clippers, agent Mark Bartelstein of @Prioritysports tells ESPN,” tweeted Wojnarowski. “Plumlee landed with Clippers at deadline and decides to stay with LA despite bigger financial offers elsewhere.”
Evidently, the former Duke star is smitten with the Clippers, believing Los Angeles can utilize his talents and help him compete for an NBA title. With Kawhi Leonard returning to the fold for the franchise next season, Plumlee’s squad could be one of the more underrated in the league.
While the Western Conference is a gauntlet, Mason Plumlee believes the Clippers can get the job done, as he’ll stay in Los Angeles for another season next year.

More on Mason Plumlee, Los Angeles Clippers
Continuing, Mason Plumlee came into the NBA via the Brooklyn Nets, who selected him with the No. 22 overall pick during the 2013 NBA Draft. He didn’t join the Clippers until he was traded to Los Angeles during last season’s campaign, as the franchise became his sixth NBA squad.
There was something Plumlee liked about Los Angeles, as he’s now chosen to return to the team over looking for a new squad to join. The Clippers may be cash strapped, but they’re making it work.
In 23 games with Los Angeles, Plumlee averaged 7.5 points and 6.9 rebounds per game, so he’ll be looking to improve upon those numbers as he gets more and more comfortable with the franchise.
