Report: Vlade Divac undergoes emergency surgery for artificial hip after motorcycle accident

Vlade Divac, the Hall of Famer, had an accident after falling from a motorcycle on Thursday. He has since had to undergo a significant procedure as a result of that.
Divac apparently broke his hip from the fall off of his motorcycle yesterday in Montenegro per reporting by the Associated Press and the New York Post. That caused him to have to get an artificial one implanted in a surgery following the accident with him now currently stable at the local hospital.
“During the day, a surgical procedure was performed,” Ljubica Mitrovic, a spokeswoman of the hospital in the town of Risan, said per the AP. “He is in a stable general and physical condition and is under a careful supervision of the medical staff.”
Divac is a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as of 2019 after a 16-year professional career in the NBA playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, Charlotte Hornets, and Sacramento Kings. He’d average 11.8 points (49.5% FG), 8.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 1.1 steals per game in the association, being once named as an NBA All-Star in 2001. That recognition also includes his notable international career as Divac, a native of Serbia, played overseas, namely for the the Yugoslavian National Team.
Since the end of his playing career, Divac has taken on a career as an executive off of the court. He spent six seasons as the general manager of the Kings from 2014 through 2020 with none of those years ending in winning records for Sacramento. He has also served as the head of Serbia’s Olympic Committee.

Report: Buss family set to sell majority ownership of Los Angeles Lakers
The Buss family is set to sell majority ownership of the Los Angeles Lakers to Mark Walter of TWG Global, reported ESPN’s Shams Charania. Jeanie Buss will continue to serve as Governor after the sale.
Walter is the CEO and chairman of TWG Global, a diversified holding company. He also owns the Los Angeles Dodgers and had a minority ownership stake in the Lakers.
The Buss family has owned the Lakers since Jerry Buss purchased the franchise in 1978 for $67.5 million, and his children inherited it upon his death in 2013. Now, the family is set to sell a majority ownership for a valuation of approximately $10 billion, Charania added. Sportico valued the franchise at $8.07 billion in December and projected it as the fifth-most valuable sports team in the world.
In 2012, Walter led a group that ultimately purchased the Dodgers for more than $2 billion, reportedly spending $100 million of his own money in the process. He also has an ownership stake in the Los Angeles Sparks with a group of Dodgers partners while also owning several motorsport teams through TWG Global.
