WOOOOO! It’s happening. “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair is returning to the ring one final time, as the professional wrestling legend is preparing for a match slated for this July.

According to ESPN, the limousine-riding, jet-flying son of a gun will be joining an independent card, where he’ll step into the squared circle to entertain the wrestling world one more time.

“Ric Flair, one of the most well-known and revered professional wrestlers in history, will perform in one last match July 31, sources told ESPN on Monday,” wrote Marc Raimondi of ESPN. “Flair, 73, will step into the ring at the Nashville Fairgrounds on an independent card that will stream live on FITE TV.”

Moreover, the last match Flair wrestled was over a decade ago, when the 16-time world champion faced off against Sting in a showdown for Impact Wrestling. Of course, his last match as part of the WWE was one for the ages, a phenomenal match against “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XXIV.

As Flair rose to his feet, fighting until the very last moment, Michaels mouthed, “I’m sorry. I love you,” as he hit Flair with his finisher, Sweet Chin Music for the victory. It was an emotional rollercoaster, but as the old adage goes — when it comes to professional wrestling, you’re never really retired.

Indisputably, the two-time WWE Hall of Famer is amped up, as he described his feelings in a statement to ESPN.

“I’m going to walk that aisle one last time to prove once and for all that to be the Man, you’ve got to beat the Man,” Flair said in a statement to ESPN.

Moreover, “The Dirtiest Player in the Game” will have his match will take place days after WWE SummerSlam, which is also emanating from Nashville in July. In 2021, the WWE legend asked for and received his release from the professional wrestling giant. Now, he has the opportunity to steal their shine in the Music City.

According to ESPN, the card on which Flair will perform July 31 will begin at 6:05 p.m., an homage to weekend start times of Jim Crockett Promotions and WCW from the 1970s to the 1990s. Tickets and the pay-per-view stream will go on sale May 27 at noon.

Everything Ric Flair does in must-see. Expect the “Woo!” chants to be loud and the stars to be in attendance when the stylin’, profilin’ “Nature Boy” steps between the ropes once again in July.
