Ricky Stenhouse Jr. sells estate near Charlotte for record $12.2 million

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. sold his estate near Charlotte for $12.2 million, according to E.B. Solomont of the Wall Street Journal. The total amount is more than triple what the veteran NASCAR Cup Series driver paid for 12 years ago.
Stenhouse paid for the property in Mooresville, North Carolina, back in 2013 for $3.8 million. It first hit the market in 2022 for $15.995 million. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and his wife, Madyson Stenhouse, were planning to relist, but an all-cash buyer came along with a strong offer, per Josh Tucker of Corcoran HM Properties, who represented the Stenhouses with colleague Joey Adams. The identity of the buyer has not been revealed, but Tucker told Solomont that the buyer is not a NASCAR driver.
The property is near Lake Norman, and the Stenhouses named it Slide Job Ranch in a nod to a passing maneuver in motorsports. It was previously owned by two other race-car drivers: Ernie Irvan and Joe Nemechek. The main house was built around 2000 and is around 9,100 square feet with five bedrooms. The Stenhoueses put $1 million into backyard renovation, adding two swimming pools, and putting green and a cabana.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and his wife look to build a new home
Lake Norman is located 20 miles north of Charlotte and has been home to many NASCAR drivers due to it being close to Charlotte Motor Speedway. Charlotte is home to many headquarters of NASCAR teams, including Hyak Motorsports, the team Ricky Stenhouse Jr. belongs to.

But where will Stenhouse and his wife live? Solomont said that they purchased a 160-acre parcel of land next to the Lake Norman property. Tucker told Solomont the couple plans to build a new home there.
When Stenhouse first purchased the home in 2013, he was part of Roush Fenway Racing. He left the team after the 2019 season and joined JTG Daugherty Racing (now Hyak Motorsports) in 2020. In his five-plus seasons with the team, Stenhouse has won two races, including the Daytona 500 in 2023.
This season, Stenhouse has been having issues with Carson Hocevar. At Nashville earlier this month, Hocevar spun Stenhouse, and the incident sidelined him for the rest of the race. At Mexico City on Sunday, Hocevar spun Stenhouse again, causing him to confront the 22-year-old after the race.
