Robert Saleh attends Green Bay Packers practice following Jets firing
Robert Saleh, fired earlier this month as head coach of the New York Jets (2-5), was present at Green Bay Packers (5-2) practice on Wednesday.
Saleh watched on from the sidelines, observing the offense during the entire open portion of practice, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.
Saleh and Packers head coach Matt LaFleur have a relationship dating back to their time coaching together in college at Central Michigan and in the NFL with the Houston Texans (5-2). LaFleur served as an offensive assistant from 2008-09, while Saleh spent time as a defensive intern, defensive quality control coach and linebackers coach from 2005-09. The two worked together with the Chippewas in 2004 as assistants. LaFleur was the best man in Saleh’s wedding.
Oh, and both Saleh and LaFleur coached Aaron Rodgers. One of those coaches had more success than the other with Rodgers, though both are highly respected across the league. Saleh also previously coached with defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley. Hafley served as defensive backs coach for the San Francisco 49ers (3-4) while Saleh was the defensive coordinator.

Robert Saleh getting back into coaching with Packers?
Clearly, there’s a lot of connections between Saleh and the Packers. If Saleh wants to jump back into coaching immediately, this would be an ideal fit.
LaFleur will speak with the media after practice, so perhaps will know then if Saleh has joined the coaching staff in some capacity.
