WATCH: Russell Wilson exits game with concussion after helmet hits ground

Russell Wilson suffered a scary looking injury while scrambling for a possible touchdown, apparently suffering a concussion. The Denver quarterback attempted to turn a good play into a great one by fighting for more yards — only to get tackled and have his helmet slam into the ground with force.
Wilson remained on the ground for some time after the hit and the broadcast cameras caught his face in a completely dazed state.

Russell Wilson exits game with possible concussion
The former Seattle star has had a rocky first season with the Broncos as the team has struggled to find meaningful offensive production. Sunday’s matchup with the Chiefs featured one of the best passing performances of Wilson’s time with the Broncos through the fourth quarter — until the tragic injury forced him out of the game.
Replay showed Wilson’s helmet hit the ground first and taking the worst of the impact, while the close-up images of his face showed him visibly disoriented and shaken. The medical staff checked him quickly on the field before helping him to the sideline and taking away his helmet as he entered the NFL’s concussion protocols.
