Ryan Preece credits relationship with Brad Keselowski, Chris Buescher for success at RFK Racing

The 2025 season has been a very successful one for Ryan Preece. Since joining RFK Racing, he has really found his stride. It is rare to see a driver like Preece, who has been in and out of the highest level of NASCAR throughout his career, truly find that “right situation” that everyone says they need to truly blossom into the racecar driver they are meant to be.
Everyone knows about Ryan Preece’s success in modifieds. He won hearts in the NASCAR fanbase by finding part-time rides when he could and capitalizing on them in the Truck and Xfinity Series. His time in the Cup Series has not been so great.
Today in Nashville, Brad Keselowksi praised Preece and his growth at RFK this season while speaking to the media. When asked about those comments, Preece touched on what it means to have Keselowski as a teammate and team owner.
“You know where we are is even with a 40-point hit at Talladega,” Preece said of his points position in 2025. “So, yeah, I like to, I sat down with Brad a couple of weeks ago, and just, he’s been somebody that’s been really good to talk to about maybe some challenges that I have, or maybe some of the prep work, or how he goes about things. So, that’s been, that’s been really good to be a part of and have that. I feel like we’re one thing away from clicking where we can start winning races, start leading laps, start showing what we’re capable of.”
It feels like Ryan Preece is right where he was meant to be all along. After suffering at Stewart-Haas Racing for two seasons, things are coming together for the driver from Connecticut.
Ryan Preece connecting with RFK Racing teammates
Already in 2025, through 13 races, Ryan Preece has as many top-10 finishes, five, as he had in 2024 with Stewart-Haas. That’s with the Talladega DQ taking one away. He would already have surpassed that career-best mark with six top-10s.

It goes back to the relationships he has built at RFK. Chris Buescher has been a good friend for years, going back to JTG Daugherty. Add in the guidance of Brad Keselowski, and it’s been a great match.
“Chris and I have always had a good relationship when we were at JTG,” Preece continued. “He’s somebody you know, as far as within this garage, he’s somebody that I’ve always been able to go to and talk to. Or even, my wife and I joked about, even before coming to RFK, I needed to be more like Chris. And I have no problem adjusting who I am or what I need to do to be better.
“Then you know, on top of that Brad, he’s just been somebody that, really, as far as not only as a teammate, but also as a, as an owner, he’s been really great to have his perspective but also the knowledge that he has or racing, the knowledge he has for race cars – what he wants out of RFK and the team. You know, it’s just, it’s a great deal to be a part of.”
Sitting at 14th in the points, Ryan Preece is in control of his own destiny. The playoff bubble is delicate right now as far as points are concerned. If he can get a win, like Keselowski believes he can, then he won’t have to worry about points too much.
