Ryder Cup 2025: Absurdly long line for free breakfast goes viral online

Everyone is excited for the Ryder Cup, taking place this weekend in Long Island. The event is giving out free concessions for the first time ever, adding to the anticipation, but it’s not going as well as many expected.
As is usually the case with free stuff, especially food, absurdly long lines have taken over the event. Check out the evidence below, shared to X (formerly known as Twitter) by Front Office Sports. It’s a pretty wild situation.
Perhaps these spectators should’ve hit a famous New York deli for a bagel, or even McDonald’s for a McMuffin, before the event. No matter how tasty the free breakfast is, that wait may not be worth it.
At least there should be some entertaining golf played on Friday. The weather hasn’t been great throughout the week, but it’s clearing up for some fun times on Long Island this weekend. We’ll see if the United States can come through with the pressure on.

Moreover, U.S. Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley announced last month the 12-man roster that’s going head-to-head against Team Europe at Bethpage Black in Long Island, N.Y. this weekend. Six players automatically qualified on points. Bradley was tasked with picking six players to round out the roster.

The big question was whether Bradley would pick himself, thus becoming the first U.S. captain to play since Arnold Palmer in 1963. Bradley chose not to play, instead going with Sam Burns with his final captain’s pick. You can view the complete Ryder Cup roster below. It’s stacked, and it should lead to some awesome golf.

For the United States, the focus is on avenging the 16.5-11.5 loss to Team Europe in the 2023 Ryder Cup. Captain Luke Donald’s features such players as Rory McIlroy, Robert MacIntyre, Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Rose, Rasmus Højgaard and Tyrrell Hatton. It’s no walk in the park for the Americans.
Friday’s coverage of the Ryder Cup can be found on USA Network, with Saturday and Sunday seeing a shift to NBC. The United States and Europe have alternated winning the Ryder Cup since 2016 — we’ll see if that trend continues this time around in 2025.
