Saquon Barkley injury update: Eagles RB goes into medical tent after pulling up on run

Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley went into the medical tent after a long run to end the third quarter. The Eagles led the New York Giants 24-13 at the time of Barkley’s exit.
It was a 28-yard run by Barkley, pushing his Sunday total to 150 yards on the ground, a season-high. He had one touchdown run and four catches for 24 yards and a touchdown reception as well.
Two plays after his run, which included a long sack of Jalen Hurts, backup RB Tank Bigsby ripped off a 29-yard run. Philadelphia would extend its lead on Hurts’ third touchdown pass of the day and second to TE Dallas Goedert, going up 31-13 with 11:17 remaining.
FOX sideline reporter Erin Andrews got a good look at Barkley, who was briefly in the tent after pulling up. In fact, he had his helmet with him back on the sideline after Bigsby’s run.
“(Saquon Barkley) didn’t spend much time in that blue tent, guys,” Andrews said on the broadcast. “He kind of popped his head out a couple of times after (saying) ‘what’s his situation?’ He wasn’t happy to see how far back the Eagles offense was, but he saw Bigsby on that run. Now he’s over there on the sidelines holding that helmet. No word about what’s going on with that hamstring. We’ll let you know.”
Eagles radio sideline reporter Devan Kaney provided a further update on Barkley. The running back was officially questionable for the remainder of the game, but given the time and score, it was seen as precautionary.

Barkley’s injury wasn’t the only one to a running back Sunday. Giants rookie Cam Skattebo was carted off in the first half after a gruesome lower leg injury. QB Jaxson Dart and teammates were visibly upset after the young star had to be taken to the locker room and eventually to the hospital.
Skattebo, New York’s fourth-round selection out of Arizona State, came into Sunday’s game with 398 rushing yards on 4.1 yards per carry, to go along with five touchdowns. He had 23 receptions for 189 yards and an additional score. Skattebo provided a much-needed jolt to the Giants, who will now have to figure out ways to win without him.
Barkley and the Eagles’ run game was not nearly as efficient and explosive as last year. But Sunday proved otherwise and it seemed to return to form.
Barkley and the Eagles will have a bye week next week, giving them an extra chance to rest up before taking on the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football. It’ll give WR AJ Brown a chance to return from injury as well.
