Scottie Scheffler has claimed the 2025 PGA Championship win after separating himself from Jon Rahm on Sunday. The two golfers were neck-and-neck down the stretch but Scheffler opened up a big lead at the end.

Scheffler held a commanding six-stroke lead entering the final hole and finished with a score of 11-under for the entire tournament to win by five strokes. Rahm ended tied for eighth place with a score of four-under par.

Scheffler and Rahm were still tied at hole No. 12, but Scheffler stepped his game up across the back nine to pull away for good. After giving up a three-stroke lead, he regained it with a 9-foot birdie putt on No. 10. Another birdie on the 15th gave Scheffler a four-shot cushion heading into the “Green Mile.” It also helped that Rahm seemed to blow up over the course of the last nine holes to fall far behind.

Scheffler entered Sunday with a three-stroke lead, but would fall into the tie with Rahm after the first nine holes. But his back-to-back birdies and holes No. 14 and 15 helped him retake the lead and surge ahead for the win.

It was the 15th PGA Tour victory for the 28-year-old Scheffler. Since World War II, only two other golfers have won 15 times on tour and captured three majors before age 29 — Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods. Going into last year’s PGA Championship, Scheffler had won four of his past five starts, including his second Masters victory that April.

“I’m just really proud of the way we fought this week,” Scheffler said afterward, per PGATour.com. “I was battling my swing for the first couple days … it was a real team effort this week. I’m proud of the whole squad, and I’m looking forward to celebrating this one.”

Scheffler has now won three major championships in his career. Along with a PGA Championship victory, the 28-year-old won the Masters in 2022 and 2024. He just needs to win the U.S. Open and The Open Championship to complete the Grand Slam.

Nike debuts incredible Scottie Scheffler ‘Guilty’ ad after 2025 PGA Championship win

Scottie Scheffler won the 2025 PGA Championship, and Nike just released an epic ad to celebrate the victory. On X/Twitter, Nike shared a photo of Scheffler swinging a club with the caption, “Best player in the world? Guilty.”

In the post, Nike also wrote, “The verdict is in. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is the PGA Champion.” Nike said this because Scheffler was arrested during the PGA Championship at this time last year.

Scheffler was arrested in May of last year after a Louisville police officer said that the golfer disobeyed his command to stop and that he tried to drive around a crash scene on a median. Traffic outside the golf course had been stopped after a man was struck and killed by a shuttle bus around 5 a.m. ET.

An arrest report said Detective Bryan Gillis was dragged “to the ground” and suffered “pain, swelling, and abrasions to his left wrist” after Scheffler’s car “accelerated forward.” He was charged with felony assault and several misdemeanors. But 12 days after his arrest, Jefferson County Attorney Mike O’Connell dropped the charges against Scheffler and said the golfer’s characterization that the incident was a “big misunderstanding” was corroborated by the evidence.
