Cal Raleigh can do it all on the baseball field. He started his week winning the 2025 Home Run Derby and playing in the Major League Baseball All-Star Game, and the Seattle Mariners star catcher might add another job to his resume before the regular season resumes this weekend.

The story of Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and HR chief Kristin Cabot getting cozy at a Coldplay concert in Foxborough has been making waves on social media. The duo was shown on the big screen, and the guilt of their assumed affair being revealed to the world hit their faces immediately.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin didn’t shy away from the awkwardness. As the duo ducked when the camera panned to them, he proclaimed, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”

In response, everyone is getting their jokes off — even the Mariners. They enlisted Raleigh’s help, utilizing his amazing nickname “Big Dumper” in the process, to offer his services to the Astronomer duo.

“If your significant other was recently spotted at a Coldplay concert, email [email protected],” Seattle posted on X. We’ll see if the significant others of Byron and Cabot decide to take the team up on their offer.

An MLB superstar, Home Run Derby champion and helpful hand when you’re caught in a sticky situation. What can’t Raleigh do? It’s been a landmark week for the catcher and his team, and the Mariners are continuing to capitalize on “Big Dumper” and his rise in popularity.

More on Cal Raleigh, MLB Home Run Derby

At the moment, Raleigh is the MLB home run leader, so he entered the contest on Monday as the favorite. However, that’s usually no guarantee for a player to win it. The catcher had to come through, and he outlasted Tampa Bay Rays infielder Junior Caminero in the final round.

“Usually, the guy that’s leading the league in homers doesn’t win the whole thing,” Raleigh said, via ESPN. “That’s as surprising to me as anybody else.”

It was a family affair for Raleigh, as well. His pitcher was his father, Todd, and his younger brother, Todd Raleigh Jr., caught for him. That’s special.

“Anybody that’s ever played baseball as a kid dreams of stuff like this,” Cal’s dad said, per ESPN. “I dreamed of it. He dreamed of it. When you’re a parent, you look at it differently because you want your kids to be happy.”

All told, “Big Dumper” is seeing his star turn. Time will tell if he has a couple of new fans courtesy of Astronomer and Coldplay, or if the Mariners’ call to action goes unanswered. Regardless, the second half of the MLB season should be an awesome one for Seattle’s star catcher in Cal Raleigh.
