Shannon Sharpe sends strong message to Ja Morant after series of cryptic posts

FS1 “Skip and Shannon: Undisputed” co-host Shannon Sharpe shared a message for Ja Morant after the Memphis Grizzlies guard posted and deleted a series of cryptic messages on Instagram Wednesday.
Sharpe said he would love to have a sit-down with Morant in the future to help out the 23-year-old.
“I don’t think the NBA is going to allow you to be a part-time thug and a part-time NBA player. You get to choose one or the other,” Sharpe said, via Awful Announcing. “Hopefully he chooses the latter and he becomes a full-time basketball player. But I do think Ja needs some guidance, some counseling. I would love to sit down and just have a conversation with him and say, ‘Ja, what do you want bruh, do you understand how much God has given you?’”
Morant posted three images to his Instagram Story with messages reading “Love ya ma [blue heart emoji],” “Love ya pops [blue heart emoji]” and “You da greatest baby girl [blue heart emoji] love ya.” He followed those with a post that read, “Bye.” The cryptic messages came less than two weeks after he was seen brandishing a gun in an Instagram Live video. Following Morant’s second gun-related incident in as many months, the Grizzlies suspended Morant from all team activities.

“We are aware of the social media video involving Ja Morant,” the statement read. “He is suspended from all team activities pending League review. We have no further comment at this time.”
Tennessee police conduct welfare check on Ja Morant
Tennessee police conducted a welfare check on Morant Wednesday. Officials told ESPN he’s just “taking a break from social media.” Sharpe believes the messages were a “cry out” from Morant.
“I think this was a cry out. I could be wrong,” Sharpe said. “He put egg on a lot of people’s faces because Nike stuck around him the first time… he made a mistake and he apologized for it and they believed him. Powerade stuck by him, they believed him And then not two months later, you find yourself in the very situation that you apologized for… don’t worry about the Nike contract, don’t worry about the Powerade, get the attention and the help that you need and then everything will fall back into place and take care of itself.”
