Skip Bayless thinks very highly of Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders. The opposite can be said for how he feels about Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

Bayless made that known during Monday’s “Undisputed” on FS1, but he didn’t stop there. Bayless gave one of his spiciest takes yet, saying that Sanders is “right now better than Dak Prescott.”

“I’ll go on record to say that Shedeur is right now better than Dak Prescott,” Bayless said. “As we speak, as he stands, wherever he is in Boulder, Colorado, he’s better than Dak Prescott.”

As a reminder, Prescott is coming off his best season to date in the NFL, leading the league with 36 touchdown passes. Prescott finished second in the NFL AP MVP Award voting, only behind Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens.

Sanders, meanwhile, wrapped up his first season at Colorado, leading the Buffaloes to a 4-8 record. Sanders, the son of head coach Deion Sanders, threw for 3,230 yards, 27 touchdowns and three interceptions on 69.3% passing in 11 games. Colorado started its season 4-2 but lost six consecutive games to close out the campaign.

Deion Sanders suggests Shedeur Sanders will force his way to certain NFL teams

Shedeur Sanders is thought to be a top prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft, which Deion Sanders is well aware of. Deion Sanders suggested, however, that his son won’t be available to just any teams. In his words, Shedeur Sanders could pull an Eli Manning.

“Now, all this is subjective because I know what I want, kind of want them to go,” Deion Sanders said. “And let’s not forget Shilo [Sanders]. But I know where I want them to go. So, there’s certain cities that it ain’t going to happen. Going to be a Manning — I’m sorry, it’s going to be an Eli.”

Deion Sanders is of course making reference to how Manning used the threat of not playing and other leverage to get the then-San Diego Chargers to not make him their franchise quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick. The Chargers took Manning No. 1 overall and then traded him to the New York Giants less than an hour later in the 2004 NFL Draft.

Shedeur Sanders himself believes he’s worthy of being the No. 1 pick, a big reason why he decided to run it back in Boulder for one more season.

“I’m trying to be the first quarterback off the board. That’s really what it is,” Shedeur Sanders said this past week. “I respect Caleb [Williams]. I respect how he plays. He’s a great player. But, overall, there’s just different tiers of quarterbacks. There’s guys that’s special, there’s guys that are good and guys that are OK, game managers. You’ve gotta understand what player you are and what category you fall in. I understood this year wasn’t my year. I didn’t have enough time at this level.”
