What bad planning! Kenny Pickett and his fiancee are going to miss the Taylor Swift concert, the social event of the summer, when her grand tour swings through Steel City this weekend.

More specifically, Swift will be performing Friday and Saturday night at Acrisure Stadium. That’s the Steelers home. But alas, Kenny Pickett, the Steelers quarterback who is destined to be the Acrisure King, won’t be there when pop royalty hits the stadium with her thousands upon thousands of fans.

Rest assured, he has a good excuse. Wedding plans. No more explanation needed. Reporters who covered the Steelers asked Pickett about his big day — it’s June 24th. Here’s how Pickett answered.

“Driving home Friday to get it all squared away. We’re 10 days out. I’m pumped. It’s going to be awesome.”

But one reporter realized there was a conflict in dates. Horrors! Was he going to miss Taylor Swift?

“I hope she can forgive us,” Pickett said. “Maybe we’ll be at the next one.”

Kenny Pickett loves to post gushy love messages on Instagram

Kenny Pickett is marrying Amy Paternoster, a former soccer player for Princeton. The two went social media official two springs ago. Now, if you look at the Instagram accounts of Pickett or Paternoster, you’ll see all sorts of photos of the adorable couple. The two celebrated Pickett’s 25th birthday earlier this month.

“Smiling like this with you til the end!! Thank you for a great day,” Pickett wrote as the caption for a photo of the two of them at the party.

He made two life changing decisions right after his 2021 football season at Pitt. He announced for the NFL draft. And he asked Amy to marry him.

“Got tired of calling you my girlfriend,” Kenny Pickett posted on Instagram. “Here’s to a lifetime with the person I cherish more than anything in the world. You make me a better person and I could not imagine life without you. I love you more forever and always!!”

Meanwhile, Joe Burrow isn’t a Swiftie, but Aaron Rodgers is

Circling back to the big social event at Acrisure, Kenny Pickett isn’t the only big-name quarterback to skip a Taylor Swift concert. Joe Burrow also isn’t a fan. Swift is swinging through Cincinnati at the end of the month for dates at Paycor Stadium.

“I have a lot of respect for what Taylor Swift has done with her career,” Burrow told reporters. “I can’t say that I’m listening to too much Taylor Swift on the speakers in the headphones.”

And then you have Aaron Rodgers, the former Packer turned Jet. Swift spent Memorial Day weekend in the NYC area, performing at MetLife Stadium. Rodgers admitted he was a big Swiftie. He and buddy Miles Teller, aka Rooster from Top Gun: Maverick, went to one of her shows.
