Stewart Friesen injury update: Extent of injuries revealed for NASCAR Truck Series Vet after horrific wreck

NASCAR Truck Series veteran Stewart Friesen was involved in a violent wreck during Monday’s Super DIRTcar Series race at Autodrome Drummond in Quebec. Friesen, who was transported to the hospital, suffered a broken pelvis and a fractured right leg. Both injuries will require surgery, according to his wife Jessica.
“As most of you know by now, Stewart was involved in a multi-car accident at Autodrome Drummond in Quebec, Canada last night. CT scans have come back clear of any head, neck, or spine injuries. Unfortunately, he is still in a tremendous amount of pain,” she wrote on X. “Stewart has suffered an unstable/open-book pelvic fracture, meaning his pelvis is broken in two or more places, with a large hematoma on the area. Stewart also has a fractured right leg. Both of those injuries will require surgery.
“Stewart was transferred to a larger hospital this morning for these procedures. His vitals are stable, and after receiving additional pain medication, he is in better spirits and resting. … Thank you to everyone who has reached out and sent prayers and positive thoughts. We will share more updates as soon as we have them. Thank you all for your continued support.”

The accident occurred during the dirt modified feature event at Autodrome as Friesen was in a three-wide battle for position. Friesen went high up on the straightaway entering Turn 3, and his car flew off the main track surface and into the ARMCO barrier. His car burst into flames before coming back onto the racetrack, where another driver slammed into him.
