The Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots are set to deliver an exciting Week 2 matchup between two former Alabama Crimson Tide gun-slingers. Mac Jones and his Patriots are looking for their first win, while Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins hunt for win No. 2 after making a statement in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Tagovailoa, assisted by Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle and Co., accumulated 536 yards on offense last week and doesn’t appear like he’s ready to slow down any time soon.

The Dolphins will have former Texas A&M Aggies running back De’Von Achane active for the first time this season. The rookie third-rounder dealt with a shoulder injury to start the season.

Meanwhile, the Patriots have wide receiver DeVante Parker active for Sunday night’s game. Parker, a former first-round pick for Miami, was dealing with a knee injury that caused him to miss Week 1.

Before kickoff, the Dolphins and Patriots both released their lists of inactive players for Sunday Night Football on NBC. Kickoff from Foxborough is at 8:20 p.m. ET.

Dolphins favored in AFC East matchup

The Miami Dolphins enter the Sunday Night Football matchup as 2.5-point favorites despite traveling up north to face the Patriots. New England will be sporting throwback uniforms featuring the red jersey that they haven’t worn for nearly a decade.

Miami has a 61.6% chance at victory, according to the ESPN matchup predictor. The Dolphins have had the Patriots’ number over the past two seasons. Starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has won four of his last four starts against future Hall of Fame coach Bill Belichick and his Pats.

After their Week 2 matchup, the two AFC East foes won’t meet up again until Oct. 29 in Miami.

Last season, Mike McDaniels led his team to a 20-7 victory over the Patriots to begin the regular season slate. Things didn’t go as smoothly without Tagovailoa under center later in the year. Meeting again in Week 17, New England won by two points.

Regardless of the outcome of the game on Sunday Night Football, Miami will move on to face the Denver Broncos while the Patriots travel to take on the Jets in Week 3.
