Tad Prescott sounds off on Cowboy fans: 'If I could get Dak to leave Dallas I would'

Following the Dallas Cowboys’ 48-32 playoff loss to the Green Bay Packers in the wild card round, fans have continued to sound off on both head coach Mike McCarthy and quarterback Dak Prescott.
Dak’s older brother, Tad Prescott, has now sounded off on social media about the situation with his words pointed toward the Cowboys’ fanbase.
“Cowboy fans why continue to DM me TRUST ME, if I could get [Dak Prescott] to leave Dallas I would. I too want him out of Dallas. The city and organization have been great to he and our family, but done with drama and the so called fans, but he loves this team, and wants to bring it rings,” he tweeted.
Dak’s continued loyalty to the Cowboys is commendable, but the fans have made their thoughts clear on the matter — and now his own family is calling out his Dak’s own fanbase.
“Those who really follow or know me, knows I have never spoken badly about the [Dallas Cowboys] as an organization or team, I’ve never spoken badly about a player on the team or the city of Dallas. It’s the so called fans I have an issue with,” he wrote in another tweet.
Regardless of how his brother feels, every sign points toward Prescott being the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys next year and beyond. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport revealed on Saturday that Prescott is “still on track for his large contract extension.” However, Prescott has a no-trade clause in his current contract and a cap hit of $59.4 million in 2024, so he was likely always going to be the Cowboys QB next season.

Despite this season ending prematurely, Prescott was one of the most productive quarterbacks in the league this season. He passed for 4,516 yards (third in the NFL) and a league-high 36 touchdown passes on the year.
However, in the playoff loss to Green Bay, Prescott was handed a heavy work load against the Packers after trailing early. He completed 41 of 60 passes for 403 yards with three touchdown passes and two interceptions during the loss, which prompted fans to air their grievances toward the Cowboys QB1.
The hate on Prescott got as close to the QB as his own WR1’s mother. CeeDee Lamb‘s mother, Leta Ramirez, posted on FaceBook that ‘Dak isn’t it,’ and doing a bit more than hinting toward wanting her son to play for the Houston Texans alongside rookie CJ Stroud.
Because Prescott is expected to remain in Dallas long-term, unless he can string together multiple playoff wins in the same postseason, it’s likely that he will continue to receive this type backlash from his own team’s fanbase.
