Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield helped carry the team over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday and Monday, he had more good news for Bucs nation. He and his wife, Emily, are expecting their first child – a baby girl – in April of 2024.

The couple, married since 2019, announced the news in a post via Emily Mayfield’s Instagram. The post includes photos of the happy duo alongside their future baby’s fuzzy “older brother,” Fergus.

“We’ve been hiding a little something…….,” she wrote with the eye emoji. “But we are THRILLED to share that baby girl Mayfield will be joining our crazy crew in early April 2024.”

The 28-year-old Buccaneers quarterback is in his sixth year in the league and with his fourth team. Hopefully, considering the relative success he’s found this season with Tampa, Mayfield and his growing family can make the city more of a home for the next few years. However, his current deal is for just one year.

Tampa Bay is 5-7 this season, which is Mayfield’s first. The team started off hot with three wins in the first four games of the year, but followed that up with a four-game losing streak. They’ve since split the last four games 2-2. The quarterback is 18-8 in touchdowns to interceptions this season with 2,790 passing yards and a 63.6% completion rate.

Mayfield joining Dak Prescott’s Girl Dad group

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and his girlfriend Sarah Jane Ramos announced last week that their first child will also be a girl. Prescott has credited much of his recent success to his new-found “Dad strength.”

“A little bit of Heaven sent down to Earth,” the expecting mother wrote on Instagram with several maternity photoshoot pictures. “Our immeasurable blessing. I cannot wait to raise a strong, confident, beautiful baby girl with you @4dak”

“Beyond Blessed! Girl Dad incoming,” Prescott captioned the post as he shared it to his own social media.

Prescott also posted a touching comment on Ramos’ announcement.

“How thankful I am to do this with you can’t be explained!” the future dad commented. “God makes no mistakes and nothing is coincidental and for that, I thank Him Daily! I love you, and y’all can always count on me. Let’s do this Mama.”

Prescott and Ramos made their relationship public on social media over the last few months. Now, they’ll venture into the world of parenthood as the QB continues navigating his eighth season in the league.
