Team Penske celebrating 60th anniversary throughout 2026 race season

For the 2026 season, Team Penske is celebrating its 60th anniversary. There will be many special moments throughout the season. Some of the most iconic organizations in racing have celebrated major milestones recently. Now, it’s Penske’s turn.

NASCAR had its 75th anniversary in 2023. The Wood Brothers and Petty Family both celebrated 75 years of racing in the last two years. Hendrick had its 40th anniversary in 2024. Now, it’s Team Penske celebrating a significant anniversary.

Over the decades, Penske has left its mark on several racing series across the world. From endurance racing to sports cars to NASCAR, IndyCar, and more, the team has always been a winner. The organization is known for being “Penske Perfect,” and the Captain, Roger Penske, is an icon in motorsports. There is a reason why they have been able to last so long and find so much success.

“Our 60th anniversary is a tremendous milestone for our organization,” said Penske in a statement. “The 2026 season will give us the opportunity to celebrate the people, partners and fans who have helped shape Team Penske since 1966, while also looking ahead to the future. This year ahead is a meaningful one with many terrific moments for our team and story still to come.”  

Team Penske is planning multiple events and moments for the 2026 season. There will even be a “refreshed anniversary identity” that will be placed on Penske uniforms, cars, and elsewhere.

On top of paint schemes and uniforms and merch, Penske will be celebrated with an exhibit in the NASCAR Hall of Fame. That will go live in the Spring of 2026 with a wide range of memorabilia and cars for fans to take in and learn about.

Team Penske missed Championship 4 in 2025

For the first time in the Next Gen era, Team Penske missed out on the Championship 4 and the Cup Series championship in 2025. Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney won alternating championships between 2022 and 2024. This year, they were both shut out by Joe Gibbs Racing and Hendrick Motorsports.

It is a shame that the Penske WEC program shut down this year as well. Endurance racing is a major part of Penske’s history. So, to see that team and Porsche pull out of WEC was a surprise, especially given this anniversary coming up in 2026. That’s the way motorsports goes, though.

Team Penske had a down year in IndyCar in 2025. So many issues with cars, penalties, and other ugly moments sank the competitive chances of the entire organization. Josef Newgarden getting the win at Nashville to end the season was perhaps the highlight of the year.

For the 60th anniversary, Team Penske will be performing at its best. While it was a bit of a down year, Roger Penske will have his ship looking tip-top. When the green flag flies in 2026, every engine will be tuned and ready to chase wins and championships, no matter the series.
