Tennessee at Alabama odds: Opening point spread revealed, How to Watch

The Third Saturday in October means it’s time for Alabama vs. Tennessee. They will renew their storied rivalry in Week 8, and the early point spread has been revealed.
The Crimson Tide opened as 8.5-point favorites over the Volunteers, according to BetMGM. The over-under also pointed at 60.5 for the showdown.
Tennessee got the better of Alabama last year at Neyland Stadium in Kalen DeBoer’s first taste of the rivalry. Now, the matchup shifts to Tuscaloosa for a primetime affair at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
How to watch Tennessee at Alabama
Time: Oct. 18, 7:30 p.m. ET
Channel: ABC
Location: Bryant-Denny Stadium, Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Alabama took a 7-0 lead into halftime of last year’s game, but Tennessee broke out in the second half. Dylan Sampson had two touchdowns as the Volunteers defended their home turf once again, taking down the Crimson Tide 24-17.
Things are different for both teams this season, most notably at quarterback. At Tennessee, Nico Iamaleava is out after a high-profile departure in the spring and Joey Aguilar is now in at the position. The Appalachian State transfer has looked the part to start the year and impressed on the big stage earlier in 2025, throwing for 371 yards and four touchdowns against Georgia.
Alabama also has a new quarterback in Ty Simpson, who bounced back well from a season-opening loss to Florida State. He appears to be settling in well to Ryan Grubb’s offense and also impressed against Georgia last month. Simpson threw for 276 yards and two touchdowns while adding a rushing score to help lead the Tide to victory.
