Titans WR Treylon Burks did not have the rookie season that many hoped to see in Nashville. Whether it’s because he was Tennessee’s first round pick in 2022 or because that pick was used to replace AJ Brown, he didn’t meet some of the expectations that many had for him coming out of Arkansas.

However, that narrative could be changing in his second season in the NFL. In an article at ESPN, Turron Davenport named Burks as the offseason standout in Music City. Davenport said that he has brought a different energy and body with him to OTAs and minicamp. Now, in some eyes, Burks has become a far more reliable target in the Titan’s pass game.

“There’s a different swagger with Burks, who reported to the facility with a noticeably leaner build. The 2022 first-round pick is playing at a different speed from his rookie season,” wrote Davenport. “Burks said the difference this season is he is in better shape. And the numerous plays he has made during OTAs/minicamp are evidence.”

QB Ryan Tannehill has faith to throw Burks’ way, regardless of whether he is wide open or in tight coverage,” Davenport noted.

In 11 games over his rookie season, Burks caught 33 passes on 54 targets. That led to 444 receiving yards, so 13.5 per receptions, for one touchdown which, ironically, came against Brown’s new team in the Philadelphia Eagles.

Burks was the No. 18 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft after three seasons in Fayetteville. In total, he caught 146 passes for almost 2,400 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns. His junior year was the highlight, though, as he caught 66 passes for 1,104 yards and 11 scores.

To say that the Titans are in desperate need of receiving help might actually be an understatement. That’s why this update from Davenport on Burks, who might be the corps’ only hope next season, is such a positive development within the franchise.

Will Levis reveals his plan for development ahead of training camp

From dominating rookie minicamp to struggling in his first real practice, Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis is developing at the same rate as any rookie would through his first couple of months in the NFL.

With a break in the offseason action coming soon, the Titans QB isn’t planning on taking any vacation days in preparation for his rookie season.

“The rookies had the privilege of being here for two extra weeks. Even though we can’t be out here with coaches,” Levis said during OTAs. “We make sure we have a script for at least a few days each week. We come out here, throw with them.

“Then, when we’re away from everybody, I don’t know if I’ll be able to be in the vicinity of any of the guys on the team for that period. But I’ll be sure to put the work in to be ready once we get back for training camp.”
