Terrion Arnold injury update: NFL insider reveals new details about Lions DB, status entering playoffs
Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold has been diagnosed with a right foot contusion, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
X-rays were negative on Arnold’s foot, and he is considered day-to-day with the injury.
Arnold, carted off the field in Sunday’s Week 18 win over the Minnesota Vikings, expects to play when the Lions next take the field in the NFC Divisional Round. Arnold has nearly two weeks to rest up.
“I’m playing,” Arnold told Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press in the locker room after the game.

Arnold, the 2024 first-round (24th overall) pick out of Alabama, suffered the injury making a tackle on running back Aaron Jones in the third quarter. Teammate Al Quadin-Muhammad stepped on his right foot, and he did not put any weight on it before heading to the locker room on a medical cart.
“I had my moment where I talked to God,” Arnold said. “I just put it in his hands. And we got a bye week. We got the best trainers in the NFL, and I feel comfortable. And I feel like they can get me back. We are just going to put it in God’s hands.”

Arnold has had an up-and-down rookie season. He finished the regular season with 60 tackles (47 solo), 10 passes defended and a fumble recovery. Arnold is still looking for his first career interception. Arnold has struggled in coverage, grading out as Pro Football Focus‘ 179th cornerback this season with a 51.5 grade.
Despite having six defensive starters on injured reserve, the Lions finished 15-2 and locked up the No. 1 seed in the NFC with a dominant showing against the Vikings. Defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn’s defense held a potent Vikings offense to just 262 total yards and surrendered only nine points. Minnesota failed to get into the end zone as the Lions picked up a 31-9 victory.
“We just play with a chip on our shoulder,” Arnold said. “We go out there and we play our version of football.”
