The Iron Bowl odds: Opening point spread released for Alabama vs. Auburn, How to Watch

One of college football’s storied rivalries will be renewed in Week 14. Alabama and Auburn will square off in the Iron Bowl, and the opening point spread has been released.

The Crimson Tide opened as 5.5-point favorites against the Tigers, according to BetMGM. The over-under also opened at 48.5.

Alabama and Auburn both won their respective non-conference games in Week 13, serving as a final tuneup for the Iron Bowl showdown. The game will also get the primetime treatment, capping off ABC’s tripleheader on the final day of the regular season.

Week 14 will mark the 90th edition of the Iron Bowl as Alabama looks to continue its quest for a College Football Playoff bid. The Crimson Tide entered the Week 13 matchup against Eastern Illinois as the No. 10 team in the rankings, making Kalen DeBoer’s group the last team in the projected 12-team field.

Auburn, meanwhile, will look to snap its five-game losing streak to Alabama. In the process, the Tigers have the ability to play spoiler and dash the Crimson Tide’s hopes of making it to the CFP for the first time under DeBoer. In addition, a victory would give Auburn its sixth win of the year, making the Tigers bowl eligible after an up-and-down season which saw the firing of Hugh Freeze mid-year.

All told, there’s plenty at stake for both Alabama and Auburn in the Iron Bowl. One of the biggest rivalry games in the sport will be in primetime on Thanksgiving weekend.
