TNT camera catches Oliers fan switch to Panthers jersey amid Florida blowing out Edmonton

Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final has gotten out of hand. The Florida Panthers are up 3-0 in the pivotal matchup, just a few minutes away from heading back home with a commanding 3-2 lead in the series. Fans in Edmonton have had enough and some are even switching sides.
Brad Marchand scored an incredible solo goal to extend the lead to three, his second of the night. As TNT cameras were going around Rogers Place, they caught somebody switching out their jerseys. One moment, they are in a blue Oilers sweater. Next, it’s all Panthers — pulling out the same white sweater they are currently wearing on the ice.
A hilarious moment caught at the last moment by TNT. You can check out the full sequence here.
Cameras went away too quickly to show what people around him thought of the move. You have to imagine Oilers fans were not too happy but the rest of us on the outside can have a good laugh.
Social media can take moments and make them memes quite quickly. We might have another great one on our hands, having the potential to be used in multiple scenarios. An easy use whenever a game is going against your own team.

Edmonton Oilers, Florida Panthers competing for Stanley Cup
On one hand, the fan might have a point because Edmonton is in big trouble. Losing a Game 5 at home with the series tied at two is usually the kiss of death. A long plane ride to Florida is now ahead of the Oilers, as they find themselves on the brink of elimination. Lord Stanley will be in the building Tuesday night, the same arena it has spent the past year.
But Edmonton has been in this position before. Going back to last season, these same two teams were competing for a championship. Florida has a whole lot more success coming out of the gates, going up 3-0 in the Series. The Oilers had to battle to even avoid being swept, let alone have a chance of winning.
An overtime goal in Game 7 was the difference, giving Florida the Stanley Cup. Edmonton will have to put together another come-from-behind effort to put themselves in position to be in position. Two more wins are required but all focus, on both sides, will be on the task at hand on Tuesday night from Amerant Bank Arena.
