Todd McShay of ESPN provided the latest intel on the draft stock of former Oregon star pass rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux. In ESPN’s latest First Draft special, McShay revealed the highly sought-after defensive end may experience a slide, but he likely won’t fall beyond the Atlanta Falcons at No. 8.

“I had heard that Atlanta wasn’t so high on Kayvon Thibodeaux,” revealed McShay. “Then, I just heard over the weekend, that the parachute pick for Thibodeaux is No. 8 to Atlanta. Talking to people who are dialed in, that have to have this information for their careers, basically. So, they’re been digging and digging and digging, and they say Thibodeaux to Atlanta if he’s there. Now, he may not be on the board and it’s a moot point. But it’s just something interesting.

“Because I could see Thibodeaux, if he doesn’t go in the first three picks, maybe falling to that spot at No. 8. But again, I go back to Drake London. I think he’s the guy who fits best in terms of what they’re looking for. I’d say it’s about 50/50 right now between those two guys.”

While off-field and personality concerns have seen a hit to the former Oregon star’s draft stock, it’s evident plenty of teams are still extraordinarily high on Kayvon Thibodeaux. On Thursday, one team will be counting their lucky stars for being able to select a prospect brimming with superstar potential like Thibodeaux.

More on Kayvon Thibodeaux, 2022 NFL Draft

This past season, Kayvon Thibodeaux totaled 49 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, seven sacks, and two forced fumbles. In three years at Oregon, he racked up 126 tackles, 35.5 tackles for loss, 19 sacks, and three forced fumbles.

On top of that, Thibodeaux proved at his Pro Day earlier in the process that his NFL Draft hype is well-deserved. In front of several NFL scouts, the 6-foot-4, 254-pound Thibodeaux posted a 4.34 time in the Pro Shuttle. In addition to the Pro Shuttle, Kayvon Thibodeaux also participated in the broad jump (9-feet, 11-inches) and 3-cone drill (7.23 seconds) at his Pro Day. He adds those to an impressive 4.65 40-yard dash time and 1.62 10-yard split time, both recorded at the combine.

“It was great,” Thibodeaux told NFL.com following his Pro Day. “It was kind of weird because it was like 200 people watching just me work out, but I think it really went great. I was able to display my linebacker drills, my pass rush, my hands, my feet. Everything that I had been working on leading up to it.”

Prior to the Combine, the former Oregon star called himself Jadeveon Clowney 2.0 and will look to prove it in the league after Draft night despite questionable claims regarding his character off the field.
