Tom Brady, Dean Blandino call out officials for controversial Dak Prescott roughing the passer call

Tom Brady called out officials Sunday during the FOX broadcast of a contest between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders. Late in the first quarter, Commanders defensive end Jacob Martin was flagged for roughing the passer after making a sack on Dak Prescott.
Prescott’s helmet came off as Martin made the tackle. However, Brady noted that it seemed to be the cause of a loose chinstrap for the QB.
“I don’t know if that’s — is that a penalty gain?” he asked. “His helmet comes off. That’s a loose chinstrap. Didn’t look like he grabbed the helmet. (Grabbed his) shoulder pad and then the helmet just popped off.”
Instead of the third down sack, Dallas got an automatic first down and the drive was allowed to continue. FOX rules analyst Dean Blandino was also in agreement with Brady that officials got the call wrong.
“That to me is not a foul there,” he said. “I think there is a hold, though, in the secondary on Washington as well.”

It should also be noted that the Cowbys did not score on the drive where the penalty occurred, going on to punt a few plays later. Regardless of the early call, Dallas would go on to win the game 44-24 and improve its record to 3-3-1.
Dak Prescott injury update: Cowboys QB spotted with wrap on throwing hand, says ‘nothing serious’
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott seemingly suffered a hand injury during the team’s victory against the Washington Commanders on Sunday. While speaking to reporters after the game, Prescott had his left hand wrapped up. He said the injury is “nothing serious,” as he might have hit his hand on another player’s helmet or facemask.
“Nothing unusual,” Dak Presscott said. The Cowboys took down the Commanders 44-22, and Prescott played a big role in the win. The former Mississippi State star completed 21 of his 30 passes for 264 yards and three touchdowns.
“It was great. It was explosive. It was fun,” Prescott said when asked about the Cowboys’ performance on offense, per Tommy Yarrish of the team’s official website. “You saw the big plays; saw some drives we put together. Our standard expectations for ourselves is very high. We understand we’ve got guys that, the playmakers that we have, the offensive line, the love that we have for one another, and you see it just the way that guys finish plays, guys cover the ball, and defense played very well tonight.”
