Tom Brady reacts to Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce surpassing him, Rob Gronkowski record

The Kansas City Chiefs are moving on to yet another conference championship game following the 27-24 victory over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night. The connection between quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce was on full display during the divisional round with the duo breaking one of Tom Brady’s long-standing NFL records.
Mahomes and Kelce connected for their 15th (and 16th) playoff touchdowns, which is the most-ever between a quarterback-receiver duo in NFL history. Tom Brady previously held the record with 15 touchdown passes thrown to tight end Rob Gronkowski. The former Patriots legend gave the Chiefs super duo a shoutout on social media after the game.
“BEASTS,” Brady tweeted. “When you one up gronk you’re doing something right.”
Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have scored all 16 of their playoff touchdowns while playing for the Chiefs. Brady and Gronkowski, on the other hand, scored most with the Patriots, but also reconnected with the Buccaneers. They had their final touchdown connection during the Bucs’ 2021 Super Bowl run before Gronkowski re-retired.
During his post-game press conference, Mahomes gave all the credit to his teammate for what they’ve been able to accomplish. The QB finished the game 17-for-23 for 215 yards and two touchdowns.
“It speaks to Travis and his work, to be able to go out there and make plays in big games,” Mahomes said. “Passing anything that has Brady and Gronk in it is special. Because those are two of the greatest players.”

Chiefs move on to showdown vs Ravens
Mahomes and Kelce will very likely extend their record this season and beyond. Next week, they’ll face the Baltimore Ravens on their turf for the AFC Championship title. All-time, Kansas City 0-1 against the Ravens in the postseason. The quarterback knows it will take everything they’ve got to topple Lamar Jackson’s squad.
“There’s no weakness there,” Mahomes said of the Ravens after Sunday’s win. “It’s going to take our best effort. Defense, offense, special teams, they do it all. It’s always a great challenge and that stadium’s going to be rocking, so we’re excited for the challenge.”
The Kelces took over Highmark Stadium with Travis scoring multiple TDs and his brother Jason stealing the show in the suite alongside Taylor Swift on Sunday. They’ll be bringing that same energy to M&T Bank this weekend. The kickoff between the Chiefs and Ravens is set for 3 p.m. ET on CBS.
