Travis, Jason Kelce joke about Taylor Swift's dad trading in Eagles fandom for Chiefs

Travis Kelce is enticing Taylor Swift’s family to give up their love for the Philadelphia Eagles and become fans of the Chiefs. And Jason, his brother, isn’t having it.

This is all a very relevant conversation this week as excitement builds towards the Monday Night Football game between the Chiefs and Eagles. It’s a rematch from the Super Bowl earlier this year. And if that’s not enough of a draw, it also will have another marketing hook to it. Travis Kelce’s parents, Ed and Donna, are set to meet Taylor’s favorite relatives, Scott and Andrea.

But Travis already started working on Scott Swift. The two were backstage in Buenos Aires last weekend when Taylor Swift kicked off the South American swing of her Eras tour. It was a proud dad with a proud possible boyfriend. We’re going to assume if Travis Kelce traveled all the way to Argentina for a quick weekend, his relationship with Swift has kicked up a notch.

Of course, Swift was a topic of conversation this week when Travis and Jason, his brother, recorded their New Heights podcast. Jason, the center for the Eagles, said he watched Swift’s concert via social media. And he took note of his brother’s interactions with Scott Swift. Taylor and her brother, Austin, grew up on a Christmas tree farm in Pennsylvania. And when it came to football, the entire family were Eagles fans. We’re not sure if Taylor ever sang “Fly, Eagles, Fly.” But we’re betting Scott Swift knows the words and has plenty of green in his wardrobe. On Monday, however, he may be wearing red and yellow.

“Just one by one, getting all the good ones to come on over,” Travis Kelce said, as he teased his brother. on his podcast.

Jason replied: “What are we doing, Scott? You’re gonna let this man’s devilishly good looks and relationship with your daughter sway you from a lifetime of fandom, Scott? This is ridiculous.”

Travis Kelce also shared that he met Taylor’s dad the night before her concert. They all went to dinner. That’s when Travis first lobbied Scott to come KC’s way and leave that Eagles life. Maybe he mentioned his two Super Bowl rings won with the Chiefs or that his best friend is Patrick Mahomes.

Then they spent time together backstage. Looks like it’s the beginning of a new Chiefs friendship.

Travis told Jason that Scott is a “big football guy,” who played college football. And get this. Travis believes Scott played linebacker and center. Jason Kelce, one of the best centers in the NFL, took that personally. “We’ll have to get together and talk some center shop one day.”

Maybe that day is Monday? After all, Donna and Ed are Jason’s parents, too.
