Trevon Diggs hands turnover ball to son, Aaiden, during big game vs. Giants
Simply everything went right on Sunday night for the Dallas Cowboys in their humiliating beatdown of the New York Giants. The Cowboys annihilated the Giants to the tune of an all-time beatdown, 40-0. Trevon Diggs had a big game on the defensive side of the ball on Sunday night. After he forced a fumble in the fourth quarter that the Cowboys recovered, he decided to hand the ball to his son, Aaiden, who was sitting in the stands.
Check it out below.
Earlier in the game, Diggs had a huge hit on Saquon Barkley, which forced the ball flying, DaRon Bland recovered it and returned it back for a touchdown. It was just one of the many dominant plays the Dallas defense put on display on Sunday evening.
Diggs put together a strong season for the Cowboys in 2022. He appeared in all 17 regular season games, totaling 59 tackles, 14 passes defended, three interceptions and a fumble recovery.
Dallas posted a 12-5 record for the second consecutive season.
Diggs’ took off in 2021, when he hauled in a remarkable 11 interceptions for the Cowboys. He returned two of those for touchdowns and also accounted for 21 passes defended in 16 contests.
Through his first three NFL seasons, Diggs has totaled 169 tackles, 49 passes defended and 17 interceptions. Not a bad stretch for the former second-round selection.

Diggs and the Dallas defense were historically dominant
The Cowboys’ defense put together one of the best performances in franchise history on Sunday Night Football. According to ESPN Stats & Info, Dallas became the 5th team in NFL history to open their season with a shutout of 40+ points on the road. The last team to do that was the Pittsburgh Steelers, who did it in 1999 against the Cleveland Browns.
After the smoke had finally cleared, the Dallas defense snatched two interceptions, racked up seven sacks, forced three fumbles, recovered one, and even racked up two defensive touchdowns. Giants quarterback Daniel Jones was repeatedly pummeled by the Cowboys front seven.
Per Next Gen Stats, the Cowboys generated pressure on 23 of 37 dropbacks (62.2%), the fourth-highest pressure rate in a game since 2019. Dallas had eight defenders generate multiple pressures, including four players with at least five pressures.
It was almost painful to watch at times, but New York head coach Brian Daboll seemed very content at leaving his starting quarterback back there like a sitting duck. The Giants’ offensive line was dominated all night long. After the game, he said he didn’t even consider pulling Jones until the final series in the fourth quarter.
