Thursday Night Football starts out with a bang, sending the Dallas Cowboys to a bitter NFC East rival, the Philadelphia Eagles. A Super Bowl banner will be unveiled from Lincoln Financial Field before the 2025 season officially gets underway. Both teams have begun preparation and unfortunately, that includes injuries.

Dallas released its first injury report of the year on Monday. Four names show up, three of which provide good news. Cornerback Trevon Diggs (knee), left tackle Tyler Guyton (knee), and tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford (ankle) were all full participants in practice. Defensive tackle Perrion Winfrey (back) was the lone DNP.

Getting Diggs back would be a massive boost for the Cowboys, considering where his status stood at the beginning of the offseason. Diggs was limited for most of training camp but Dallas decided to place him on the 53-man roster instead of starting on PUP. He would have then had to miss a minimum of four games.

An update from the man himself came after the team got off the practice field. Diggs gives about a “75-80%” chance he winds up playing on Thursday night against Philadelphia.

“I did everything today,” Diggs said via ESPN’s Todd Archer on X. “I did a lot of scout team reps, too. I was getting both. And I’m getting more conditioning. I feel good, so Thursday may be looking good.”

The same can be said for Guyton. For a few moments, everyone in Dallas thought the starting left tackle was gone for the season due to a torn ACL. Results from an MRI told differently, only putting Guyton on the shelf for a couple of weeks.

Getting himself in practice itself was a major positive sign. Being considered a full participant is a huge added bonus away from the game taking place.

Kickoff from Lincoln Financial Field is scheduled for 7:20 p.m. ET. NBC will have the broadcast, as Mike Tirico, Chris Collinsworth, and Kathryn Tappen are back on the call. Not many better sights or sounds in football than an NFC East rivalry on primetime.

Dallas is hoping their star players can get out there and help pull off an upset. Starting the year with a win against Philadelphia would be massive for confidence, especially after the past few days inside the organization. All three of Diggs, Guyton, and Spann-Ford appear to be trending in the right direction, while Winfrey still works on a return.
