A huge part of the defensive success for the Dallas Cowboys on Monday was getting a couple of pieces back healthy. Now, another pair could be on the way. Both Trevon Diggs and Solomon Thomas have missed some time due to injuries.

Now, the Cowboys face a short week with a matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer revealed the latest on where both Diggs and Thomas stand at the moment. Both updates appear to be positive but more information should be available in the coming days.

“Brian Schottenheimer says that Solomon Thomas is ‘making progress’ and with Trevon Diggs, ‘all signs are that he’s doing everything he’s supposed to do,'” Tommy Yarrish of DallasCowboys.com said via X.
#Cowboys are doing walkthroughs today, so they’ll know more on the injury front tomorrow.”

The situations between the two are a little different. Diggs found himself on injured reserve, making it the third time in as many years. Thomas only missed the Las Vegas Raiders game, eventually joining what looked to be a rejuvenated defensive tackle group.

In nine games played, Thomas has recorded 19 tackles, two tackles for a loss, and hit the quarterback once. Diggs holds three fewer games played, logging 18 tackles and a tackle for a loss.

Plenty have pointed out how important a stretch this is for the Cowboys. First up is Philly, before hosting the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving Day. Exactly one week later, Dallas heads to Detroit for what could be another fun game with the Lions.

Having everyone available is going to be key. Players such as Diggs and Thomas have been through the gauntlet before, providing experience at the very least.

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott dealing with injury

When the injury report does get released, quarterback Dak Prescott‘s name will pop up. Schottenheimer also spoke on a new issue bothering him. Thankfully, it does not appear to be anything serious. Exactly how the Cowboys plan to work through the issue was explained by Schottenheimer.

“He’s going to be fine, but we’re going to be real smart with the tempo today,” Schottenheimer said.

Nobody in Dallas appears to be too worried about whether or not Prescott plays against Philadelphia. In a world where he does not, Joe Milton was brought into the franchise to be the backup quarterback after previously getting drafted by the New England Patriots.
