Trevon Diggs update: Jerry Jones gives critical update on Cowboys CB following Commanders win

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones revealed a big injury update on cornerback Trevon Diggs after the team’s win over the Washington Commanders on Sunday. Jones told reporters that he expects Diggs to play in next week’s game after missing Sunday’s game due to a concussion.
“The combination of the injury and how it impacted… regarding a concussion issue, I’m not so sure that I know the detail of how that happened,” Jerry Jones said after the game, per Tommy Yarrish of Dallas Cowboys.com. “Not the way I would if there had been an injury on the field. We normally would see that on TV, see how an injury happens, and in this particular case, it was unrecorded.”
On Friday, the Cowboys announced that Trevon Diggs would be out for Sunday’s game after suffering an accident at his home on Thursday. The Cowboys placed Diggs in the concussion protocol.
“This is the NFL, and if you’re unsure what’s going to happen, just wait because something is going to happen,” Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer said on Friday, per ESPN. “And you deal with it, and you don’t lose sleep over it. The biggest thing is just the concern for Trevon that he’s OK. But seems like he is.”

Trevon Diggs missed training camp due to knee surgery
Before Sunday, Diggs had played in every game after spending training camp on the physically unable to perform list following the surgery he had on his left knee in January. So far this year, the former Alabama star has recorded 20 tackles, one tackle for loss, and two passes defended.
After the Cowboys’ season opener against the Eagles, Diggs talked about how he felt returning to action. “It felt good,” Diggs said of his return. “Thankful, blessed to just go out there and be with my teammates competing. I missed it a lot being out all the time I was, so it was a blessing just to be out there.”
With the win on Sunday, the Cowboys improved their record to 3-3-1. Their next game is against the Denver Broncos, a team that rallied to beat the New York Giants on Sunday and has won the last four games.
