Trevor Lawrence injury update: Jaguars coach Doug Pederson reveals latest after concussion vs. Texans
Jacksonville Jaguars (2-10) head coach Doug Pederson said that quarterback Trevor Lawrence is going to be fine after exiting Sunday’s 23-20 Week 13 home defeat to the Houston Texans (8-5) after taking a hit to the head and neck area from linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair.
Jacksonville immediately ruled Lawrence out with a concussion after the hit.
Al-Shaair made hard contact with Lawrence as he was in the process of giving himself up. As Lawrence laid on the ground, tight end Evan Engram stormed in and pushed Al-Shaair to the ground, sparking the on-field scrum.

Doug Pederson reacts to late hit on Trevor Lawrence
Lawrence, who rose to his feet after being checked out by medical personnel, was carted off the field. The Jaguars have ruled him out for the remainder of the game with a concussion. Al-Shaair, meanwhile, was ejected from the game and had to be escorted through the tunnel back to the locker room by Texans personnel and security after nearly getting into a scuffle with Jaguars guard Brandon Scherff. Officials also ejected Jaguars cornerback Jarrian Jones.
“It’s a play that has no business in our league,” Pederson said, via Hayes Carlyon of 1010 XL.
Lawrence, making his return to the lineup following a two-game absence with a sprained left shoulder, completed 4-of-10 passes for 41 yards and an interception before leaving the game.
