The Thursday injury report for the Dallas Cowboys (3-3-1) requires some scrolling to get through. The new addition to the lengthy list is left tackle Tyler Guyton, who is dealing with a glute injury.

Guyton was listed as a limited participant in Thursday’s practice. It remains to be seen if the issue will keep him sidelined for Sunday’s Week 8 road contest against the Denver Broncos (5-2).

Guyton, the Cowboys’ 2024 first-round selection out of Oklahoma, has started six games for the Cowboys this season. He missed the Week 5 win over the New York Jets (0-7) with a concussion. Guyton has allowed one sack in 259 pass block snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.

The rest of the injury report is unchanged from previous days. Notably, cornerback Trevon Diggs remains in concussion protocol. Diggs had an accident in his home last Thursday night which resulted in him suffering a concussion. While he missed this past Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders (3-4), head coach Brian Schottenheimer initially said he expected Diggs to be OK.

Cowboys add Tyler Guyton to injury report, Trevon Diggs’ status remains same

“This is the NFL, and if you’re unsure what’s going to happen, just wait because something is going to happen,” Schottenheimer said last Friday. “And you deal with it, and you don’t lose sleep over it. The biggest thing is just the concern for Trevon that he’s OK. But seems like he is.”

Team owner/general manager Jerry Jones addressed Diggs’ injury following the 44-22 Week 7 win over the Commanders. Jones said he spoke with Diggs directly, though he declined to divulge specifics of how the concussion happened.

“I don’t know the combination of the injury and how it impacted, regarding concussion issue, I’m not sure that I know the detail of how that happened,” Jones said, via Jeff Kolb of FOX 4 News. “He said what happened, and I’m not saying that didn’t happen. But a lot of times, you’re not the best viewer of what happened to you. … Yeah, no, I won’t get into that, but the bottom line is that I do expect him back.”

Before Sunday, Diggs had played in every game after spending training camp on the physically unable to perform list following surgery he had on his left knee in January. The former Alabama standout has tallied 20 tackles, one tackle for loss and two PBUs this season.
