Tyler Guyton injury update: Cowboys LT exits practice after being examined by medical staff

Dallas Cowboys left tackle Tyler Guyton left practice on Monday after suffering an injury. According to Todd Archer of ESPN, Guyton was rolled up during a pass play. He slowly walked off the field after being examined by the Cowboys’ medical staff.
Tyler Guyton is entering his second year with the Cowboys after the team selected him in the first round of last year’s draft. He played in 15 games with 11 starts as a rookie.
Last week, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott spoke about Guyton, who had an up-and-down rookie season. “That disappointment, he’s channeled it all into motivation, and that’s his fuel of getting better,” Prescott said, per Adam Schultz of Athlon Sports. “You saw glimpses of it in the offseason to now as we’re getting into this training camp. It’s continuing to grow. You’re only going to see it more when we get these pads on and he can really be a lineman again.
Tyler Guyton changed his diet this offseason
“But you can look at him and see he’s already changing, maturing physically, just speaking with him and watching the way he approaches the game, the mind’s already matured. So he’s just going to continue to take steps. Super comfortable with where he is and know that he’s not comfortable with where he is, but he’s going to continue to get better and [I’m] proud of that.”

In May, Guyton talked about revamping his diet to help improve his play this fall. “I think that I figured out a lot about what I need to do to take care of my body, to be able to play at a high level,” he said from OTAs, per Patrik Walker of DallasCowboys.com. “Also, following the guys that have came before me and understanding that the routine is very important. I feel like I learned a lot.”
The Cowboys are hoping that Guyton can help the team make a run in the postseason. In 2024, Dallas was hit with injuries, which led to the team having a 7-10 record and missing the playoffs for the first time since 2020.
